Meet Our City Council Candidates

Congratulations to Mike Ross, our endorsed candidate for Mayor, for running a good, substantive campaign based on important issues and ideas, and to all four of our endorsed candidates for City Council At-Large for making it through the preliminary election to the final election on November 5.

At our next meeting, all are welcome to meet with our candidates for City Council, or their representatives:

They will speak about why they are running and how you can get involved in their campaigns, and we will give attendees a chance to ask questions.

You can learn more about all candidates for Mayor, City Council At-Large, and City Council District 8 (Fenway, Mission Hill, Back Bay, Beacon Hill) and District 9 (Allston, Brighton) in their responses to our questionnaires.

Mike Ross for Mayor!

Letter submitted to The Boston Globe on September 19:

We agree with the September 17 editorial that Mike Ross has "articulated the fully developed, all-inclusive vision necessary to lead the city forward." In addition, we are confident that he is the candidate most able to implement that vision as mayor and the right person to lead Boston into a new era.

Mike Ross is a proven leader whose work on the city council and as council president has benefited his district and the entire city. He earned the endorsement of the committees we chair, made of activists from several diverse neighborhoods in Boston, because of his vision, his strong leadership ability and record on the city council, and his honest, collaborative and innovative approach. Among his many achievements, Mike Ross has played an active role in improving the transparency and accountability of the city council, bringing physical education back to the Tobin School in Mission Hill, revitalizing the Fenway neighborhood through a community-driven planning process, and bringing healthier food to the Boston Public Schools. As mayor he will improve our schools, make our streets safer, create jobs, and help to strengthen all of our neighborhoods.

We encourage our fellow Bostonians to join us in voting for Mike Ross for mayor on Tuesday.

Craig Lankhorst, Mission Hill, Chair of Boston Ward 10 Democratic Committee
Lauren Mattison, Brighton, Chair of Boston Ward 21 Democratic Committee
