Monday, February 22
6:00pm-7:45pm, registration begins at 5:45pm
Brighton Library meeting room (40 Academy Hill Road)
We can elect up to 25 delegates (12 male, 12 female, 1 either male or female) and 4 alternates from Ward 21. Only people registered as Democrats in Ward 21 as of January 31, 2016 are allowed to vote at the caucus and eligible to become delegates. If there are not enough candidates present to fill all delegate and alternate positions, we can consider people who are not present, provided that they have notified the chair of their interest in running. For planning purposes, it would be helpful if you let us know ahead of time if you plan to run to be a delegate for Ward 21.
More information on the convention and the caucus process is available here.
Note that the state convention and caucus process is separate from the Democratic National Convention to be held in Philadelphia in July. See information on that here.
On February 22, we will also be joined by:
- The candidates who will be on the March 1 ballot for Democratic State Committee in the Second Suffolk and Middlesex district (includes precincts 1-3, 5, 8-16) and the Middlesex and Suffolk district (includes precincts 4, 6, 7)
- Stephanie Harris from Citizens for Farm Animal Protection about their ballot question campaign
